my room just finish renovated... Nice d?cor with great view of city centre. Reception is helpful and polite to give information needed. The breakfast arrangement is something we would not have missed for anything; we have never seen anything so enormous with good quality. Central Location! There is a nice supermarket on the front of the entrance, many good restaurants surrounded.

Horrible
Worst hotel in Bangkok

I had to change my business schedules and I've arrived in Bangkok one day earlier than my programs. Unfortunately due to an exhibition the hotel booked had no room available for the extra night, so I've been suggested to go to the Ambassador. I have choosen a Privilege Suite and spoken to the duty manager to set in the living area a meeting table since I had to organize a small private meeting with my business partners. It has been immediately done. However the hosekeeper has been called twice to re.clean the bathroom and the moquette which was really dirty... I left all my business partners' name both at the front office and at the security desk in front of the elevators. They allowed all of them to get my room except my female thai business partner who has been treated like a s..t I called immediately the duty manager to have a walk through about wahat happened, but he was simply not available to speak with us. At the end of the meeting we walk out of the hotel, I paied my bill and moved to another property. Never again here!

Interesting place to stay

Interesting place to stay after reading previous horror reviews, we were booked here by a local agent as part of a tour and were pleasantly surprised. We arrived on a 05:00 hrs flight ex Australia and our agent had arranged an early check in as requested, I think somewhat to the surprise of other guests napping in the lobby and obviously waiting to check in. Our room was in the Tower Block 16th floor, large full of light, good aircon and recently refurbished, we had this room for 4 nights. Then back later in the month for 1 night on the 19th floor on this second stay no face washers despite asking twice. No problems with room service laundry. We only ate at the Am Cafe for one lunch and complimentary breakfasts. Wait staff were friendly and helpful, but breakfast was a bit of a bun fight. When built the hotel was obviously 5 star and is now being refurbished I suspect due to a new lease of life provided by the Skyrail, Nana station is minutes walk away and so easy to use. Near the hotel things we recommend: Restaurant directly opposite on the Soi cold beer in beer garden, good jazz and food not expensive. Got a private didning room for 11 on a rainy night with no problems. Cheap Charlies Bar out hotel turn left first Soi on right, outdoors 60 Baht/beer. Shoe shop at end of Soi on Sukohimvit corner. Cabbages and Condoms Restaurant 15 min comfortable walk. All in all a pleasant stay given previous reviews.

My family and I stayed at the Ambassador recently. Found it to be an unimpressive, dreary place. The staff was fine, but the first room given was unacceptable. Weird smell in lobby, old, musty room, yucky bathroom, not so clean, heard the birds (they have a bird sanctuary in the atrium) making a racket. Asked for another room which was given after an increase in price. Next room was given in the Tower. Bigger, but laughably outdated (reminded me of a Bob Newhart episode). Bathroom not so clean. I've heard that they are refurbishing the hotel, but we did not see this. Breakfast buffet okay, tons of people. Okay area, close to Sukhumvit, but seemed a bit seedy. Lots of businessmen. Not really great for families. If in Bangkok again would try Siam@Siam, looked really cool in a nice area. Asia hotel also acceptable, better area, clean rooms, but also a bit dreary.
