Stayed here as part of a trip, so assuming it was pretty cheap. The place is geared up for tour groups. Reception area has been refurbished and the roof top bar/restaurant/pool is a pleasant addition but the rooms are circa 1970s. Dingy corridors, yellow stained walls, army-esque blankets and a mouldy bathroom with a shower head seriously in need of a descale. Staff were pleasant enough and happily stored my bag until the end of the trip. The hotel also had proper security boxes in reception. Breakfast was buffet style and I did notice they were refurbing another restaurant - but until they do the bedrooms I'd steer clear. Location not ideal, slap bang in the middle of Chinatown which is a good 15 minute walk to the river and extremely busy and dirty.

We stayed at this hotel on two separate occasions as part of a tour group. This is a big hotel but reception staff were friendly and breakfast was the standard buffet type with a good selection of food. The first night, we had a standard room with one double bed and one single. The bathroom was in desperate need of updating and the shower was luke warm and not very powerful at all. There was also a dead cockroach on the floor of the bathroom when we arrived. On the second night however, we ended up with a room on the "Executive" floor for some reason and this room was much nicer. Huge room with king size double bed and one single with living area and bigger bathroom which was more modern with powerful shower. The corridors are a little dark but I would not say that they were too dark. On our second stay, only one lift was working which was a little annoying as you often had to wait for a lift for a while as it would be just slow or it would be full and I did not want to climb up or down 24 floors of stairs. The hotel also had a very small pool and a good bar on its roof which had fantastic views. The location is excellent, in the middle of China Town and not far from the main sights e.g. the river, Wat Pho, the Royal Palace, Khao San Road etc. Unfortunately, I can't really comment on the value of the hotel as we stayed as part of a tour but I am guessing that it was very cheap and I would stay here again if I came back.

Dirty hotel, rude staff, give us your money!!!

We stayed in over 10 hotels on our trip to Thailand and the Grande Ville hotel was by far the worst hotel we stayed in. The people were slow to attend to us (15 mins wait). They demanded 1000 THB deposit before they would give us our hotel key in case we ran off with the furniture!!. We felt like criminals not hotel guests. We had a deluxe room on the top floor of the hotel. Very overpriced for what it was. The windows were dirty. Everything in the room was covered in dust. We pulled back the sheets of the bed to find a long black hair on the pillow!! We then decided to check out the jacuzzi on the roof of the hotel. Hotel staff informed us that we cannot use the jacuzzi unless we pay 200 THB each. We got the impression we were in some money making machine not in a hotel. We then decided to venture outside to grab something to eat, the neighbourhood is called Chinatown and there are very few places to eat. Buffet breakfast the next day was very dull. I would recommend this hotel to people I really don't like.
