What Travellers Like

The staff are so helpful, and although they don't speak great english, they try very hard to help. We ordered some room service and had some drinks at the hotel. The rooms are in great condition, fully tiled, with bar fridge, excellent aircon, towels and a very nice showeroom. What's great about the location is that you're not right on Khoasan Rd with all that noise and mass of people (don't get me wrong, it's great when you're there, but nice to get away for some rest!. The staff were friendly and helpful, even lending us use of their power-plug adaptor and delivering free hot water at night. The rooms (including the bathroom) were very clean. I wouldn't call the following drawbacks since you would need to pay more for the following - there is no bathtub, no lift, the Standard rooms are small and the views are of back lanes.. Read review

We stayed here for two nigths, and this ir really a nice spot to stay in Bangkok and explore the city - good location (3 minutes at the centre on a tuc-tuc), an excellent price, and the rooms are well equiped, on a modern style.. Read review

While it is possible to stay in Bangkok for less, this seemed ridiculously cheap to me considering the quality of the accommodations. At the Swana (from what I understand, it was recently acquired by Best Western although it didn't seem like any Best Western I have ever seen), you can expect a small hotel and small rooms, but great design that maximizes the space (i. The beds are really comfortable and firm, the showers powerful and spacious. We stayed in a standard room, but my understanding is that the Deluxe offers more space. Cable tv, A/C and bottled water were included with the room. One thing worth noting: Many Thai hotels conserve power by having a key-controlled system that permits you to only run power while you are in the room. It doesn't really matter except that you can't leave the A/C running or charge anything while you aren't in the room. A/C worked so well that even in the stifling Bangkok heat, the room cooled quickly. The rest of the hotel is also well-designed and very pleasant.. Read review

For our third visit to BKK, my husband and I wanted to stay in a reasonably priced, clean, somewhat modern hotel in a central location with access to the river ferry and sites. We stayed in a superior and the room was quiet, clean, bright and comfortable. Rate came with a choice of 3 breakfast options (one is traditional Thai, which I thought was nice) in an outdoor cafe that connects to a very small parking garage. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. There is an open air/sidewalk restaurant a few blocks away towards KSR that is quite good and packed with locals (to me always a good sign). Friendly, Clean Hotel Chain meets Trading Spaces.

The decor was definitely Thai inspired with modern touches reminiscent of a theme room on Trading Spaces. In the past, I have ended up staying in hotels that are extremely dated (Comfort Inn at the Airport and the Reno), or has hourly rates so this was a breath of fresh air.
