Had a good time at the Metropolitan. Very stylish hotel, friendly service and large rooms. Pool is excellent after a hot day in Bangkok. Two things to be aware of - everything at the hotel is expensive by Thai standards - a few drinks at the pool will set you back (Lunch at Cyan restaurant was good though). Secondly, location is a bit out of the way for the main tourist sites. They do have a very efficient and reassuring taxi service but traffic in Bangkok is so slow it takes a while to go anywhere - best bet is to head for the river. A drink next door at the open air bar on the 59th floor at Vertigo is not to be missed!

We spent 2 nights at the Metropolitan and it was nice. The pool was very good and we enjoyed having an outdoor area in the room (terrace room) -- the rest of the room was regular, nothing oustanding. We had the lunch at cyan restaurant, which was very average. Our only concern is the music from Met bar on Friday night, which was unbearably loud. We finally called reception at 3am to kindly ask to lower the music (which they did).
