Hotel Color - Bratislava, Slovakia 

Hotel Color is a very clean, safe and modern hotel. The breakfasts have something for everyone (cereals, fruits, cold meats, cheeses, hot sausages, eggs and even cake)! There is free internet access in the reception area which is handy. I appreciated the comments from others on Tripadvisor before going re: staff. Whilst they answer your questions/queries, they do seem quite stotic which is quite unusual, but its fine. There are no safety deposit boxes in the rooms but you can leave your valuables with reception staff who lock it away for you. My only gripe is the location in relation to the Old Town. There is a tram (number 4) which stops virually outside the hotel, that will take you to the centre, it's pretty regular and takes a good 20 minutes each way. Timetables are available from the hotel. The stop I recommend you use to get off for the Old Town is Nam. L. Struna which is by the National Theatre. This 40 minute round-trip does eat into your day especially if you're going in the day and again at night. The last tram is at 10:23PM which isn't convenient if you're planning a late night. We got a taxi each night which is 500K (c. ?15) and ensure you agree a price prior to getting into the cab. But the hotel is well worth staying at , but do note the inconvenience of the location, especially if you are basing yourself around the Old Town.

Reasonably priced out of city centre hotel, Clean, comfortable, no frills, No airconditioning however, a little noisy with window open, warm without. Ideal for a night or two, no more. Jump on the tram to city centre, 20 mins (have change ready) Pretty poor service, but then that was the norm for most of Slovakia. Don't let me put you off it was o.k. but only use it as somewhere to sleep!
