Staying at the Bohinj Hotel 21-28June 2008. Nice location if you enjoy walking, however no recommended for a family. Bohinj has a lake, a waterfall and a ski lift. Plenty of places to walk, but that is all. There is a bus service every hour or so. My worst experience is the food. The hotel Bohinj does not offer a wide range of food, so if you would like something veggie you will be disappointed. we have complained to the rep, so the next step is the travel company. Other than that the suite rooms are spacious, cleaned regularly and can hold up to 3.

This is a good, well located hotel to stay in. Rooms are big - get a suite it doesn't cost much more and you get a separate bedroom and sitting room. Pine furniture and floors and a bit minimalist. You also get another unfurnished room described in the brochures as a ski equipment room but is actually the kitchen of an abandoned, but sensible, scheme to turn these rooms into self catering apartments. Staff are friendly and helpful. Got a free bottle of wine for a significant birthday which neither I or my partner had told them about so they must have picked it up on the passport check. Downside is the food which is atrociousand is served in a dismal room at the end of a long basement corridor. If you have booked half board swop your evening meals for packed lunches and eat out in the evenings at the decent and cheap local restaurants. We were told the food is not prepared on the premises but is brought in by road. Other drawback is the bar which is just a few bottles behind the reception desk. Only 8 seats to serve hotel lobby, bar and free broadband station. Other options are the Krystal a few minutes walk away on the Bled road. Used their bar a couple of times. Cosy if a bit english. Their restaurant was well liked by people we spoke to. Hotel Jezero is a building site at the moment and wasn't liked. Both these options cost a good bit more than the Bohinj.
