The Swissotel, Merchant Court is situated in the best position - right opposite Clarke Quay, a short walk from Boat Quay and directly opposite an MRT station. It has a very large beautiful pool and the hotel is very well run. The staff are polite and efficient. Highly recommended.

Entire staff very helpful - clean and courteous -- perfectly situated in Singapore for seeing this wonderful city....Would certainly stay there on our next visit and book online.

We stayed two nights there during our short mid-Autumn holidays. I would say Swissôtel Merchant Court is "a budget 4-star business hotel" with some resort hotel tastes... overall okay to good, but it needs minor but many improvements to be called "the 4-star resort hotel". Please start by saying "Hello" with a smile, "sir" and "I am sorry" whenever those attitudes are expected at the reception desk... especially to non-western guests. The fun and convenient location, clean quiet room (especially the double bed room they re-assigned us after my complaints!), comfortable swimming pool and friendly concierge staff... it's really pity I cannot make comments only on their good sides because of too many tiny errors and discomfort, with the "businesslike" reception's attitude. The other Swissotel Stamford looked better but would have to pay double.

The Swissotel Merchant Court is a very nice hotel. Rooms were clean and modern with a good sized bathroom. Hotel facilities excellent - swimming pool, spa facilities (you can book beauty treatments and the massage was great!) Restaurants etc. All high quality. Opposite a shopping mall, very handy. Also close to other restaurants along the water. Prices quoted did not include the service charges and GST so prepare for a bit extra.
