Geylang is officially designated as a red-light district with a colorful landscape of vibrant nightlife that have many small restaurants, eateries and coffee shops, interesting entertainment neon lights outlets, and the largest collection of durian (strong smelling tropical fruit) stalls.
Geylang is rejuvenating and has become the budget tourist hub, bubbling with restaurants, shopping and good value tourists accommodations.
Travel information
By Plane:
A taxi journey from the airport will take approximately 20 minutes.
By Bus:
Alternatively, take bus number 24 at bus port 2 and alight at Bedok Bus Interchange. Next, take bus number 2 or 67 to Geylang.
By MRT:
Aljunied MRT station is 10 minutes away on foot.
The train leaving the airport station only runs between the airport and the Tanah Merah station (EW4). You must then alight and walk across the platform to await the train on the EW (East West) line. Once on the EW line train, you must alight at Aljunied MRT station.
Ask the station master (or any passerby) for any further directions needed to the hotel.
Remember to mention which street (Lorong) the hotel is on.
