Best Western Kom Hotel - Stockholm, Sweden 

convenient location & great hotel

although there is a metro station near the hotel I didn't have to use it once during my 5 day stay since every attraction could be reached on foot. My room was spacious, clean and well furnished. Security was very tight as I needed my electronic key even to enter corridors. It felt like a superior hotel, I loved my stay in BW Kom.

It's not the smartest place in town BUT...the rooms are immaculate (and if you specify that you want one at the back it'll be quiet), the beds are comfortable, the breakfast-bar is pretty comprehensive and the staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly - even judged by Swedish standards (which are pretty high to begin with) they really score 10/10. It's 20 mins walk from T-Centralen (the transport hub) but only 5 mins (or less) from the nearest underground station. Also within 5 minutes walk are a range of shops (including a state-run liquor store), bars & every variety of restaurant you could wish for. Unless you really insist on being right in the centre of things this is a pretty good choice, as it is Stockholm is small, as capital cities go, and this hotel is only 3 stops from the Old Town by tube. I wasn't sure whether to give it 4 or 5 stars. Within its star-rating it might deserve 5, but it doesn't have a lounge or bar, which some people would regard as essential.

Good position for a City Break

Stayed four nights in the Best Western Kom hotel and found it an ideal base from which to explore Stockholm. It`s not far to walk in to the city centre and if you are weary after a day of sightseeing the metro is handy for your return trip. The room was spacious with a small but adequate bathroom. It was on the front and we didn`t appreciate being kept awake from 4am on two mornings by loud conversations on the pavement nearby. Perhaps we were just unlucky! Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. As mentioned by others, security is great.
