Originally built as a restaurant in 1863, the boutique Berns Hotel sits in the middle of Stockholm, Sweden, 600 meters from the narrow, cobbled streets of Gamla stan, the old town section of the city. This historic area contains the Royal Palace, which was built in the 18th century after the previous palace burned down. The Skansen open-air museum, known for its annual festivities and zoo specializing in Scandinavian wildlife, is located one kilometer away.
Grona Lund Amusement Park lies one kilometer away, along with the popular Vasa Museum, which showcases the only intact 17th-century ship, the Vasa, that was pulled from the chilly waters of Stockholm's harbor. Arlanda Airport is located 40 kilometers away.

Hotel Features. The contemporary Berns Restaurant features an Asian-influenced menu accompanied by live jazz, and guests can also enjoy complimentary continental breakfasts each morning. Dining

Berns has functioned as a popular meeting place for more than 140 years. The restaurant is open for lunch every day and for dinner Tuesdays to Saturdays. In the middle of the glass veranda there is a bench made out of marble on which the wonderful breakfast buffet is served. Here you will find smoked salmon, different types of cheese, pancakes, sausages and beautifully served fresh fruit. The staff makes the coffee in large shining espresso machine but what makes this buffet magnificent is the focus on quality and freshness.

For lunch and dinner the Bern's restaurant serves a personal and unique combination of cuisine inspired by the Asian kitchen. It is a true crossover from Japan, China, Thailand and Vietnam into a modern and cosmopolitan fine cuisine.

Ideal location - not the cheapest, excellent value hotel in Stockholm centre and the reception staff were polite. The room was magnificent and the breakfast was delicious.
