Malardrottningen Hotel details:  This unique hotel is in the Old Town and aboard an elegant 240 ft yacht permanently docked at Riddarfjarden, on the island of Riddarholmen.

Overlooking Lake Mälaren, the Mälardrottningen Yacht Hotel & Restaurant is within walking distance to the centre of Stockholm.

Built in 1924, the compact deck includes a glassed-in restaurant on the fore deck that faces the city hall, a bar in the former wheelhouse that overlooks Lake Mälaren and an open dining terrace.

Upon arrival, guests enter the reception via a gangplank into a beautifully designed lobby with teak panelling, polished brass fittings and nautical décor. The lounge and TV room sits atop the engine room which can be viewed through the glass floors.

Cabins are decorated with dark timber finish, carpeting and portholes. Most guests will not notice the gentle sway of the water as Lake Mälaren is quite calm.

The 61 cabins are situated on 3 decks and guests can access the complimentary sauna.

Transport links to Mälardrottningen Yacht Hotel & Restaurant are excellent and the stunning yacht is only a short walk to Central Station or the charming restaurants and bars of the Old Town.

The in-house restaurant provides a beautiful view of Riddarfjärden. Enjoy a drink on the deck while the sun sets.

The 61 cabins are situated on 3 decks. The hotel has a sauna complementary for guests. Stävsalong, the conference room, is available for meetings or conferences for up to 15 people.

Built in 1924, the ship was built for Mr C.K.G Billings, a millionaire from New York and at that time the largest diesel driven yacht.

Barbara Hutton, the Woolworth heiress received it as a gift from her father on her 18th birthday and she then gave it to the English Royal Navy.

During the second world war the ship was anchored very shortly in Panama and later on moved to Norway where the ship was used as a training vessel.

following a reconstruction of the ship completed in 1982, Mälardrottningen was anchored by Riddarfjärden in the Old Town.
