Techirghiol is an ancient settlement with Greek and Turkish roots. It is famous for its salty lake ("Ghiol" in Turkish). The mud from the lake is often used in treatment of rheumatic and dermatological ailments.

The location within Techirghiol offers a good retreat from the busy Black Sea resorts. The generous outdoor facilities (BBQ place, Fireplace, camping, soccer etc) provide a number of activities and spaces to relax. Travel information

By car:
- Drive into Constanta and follow the directions for Eforie / Mangalia
- In the town of Agigea take the right hand turn towards Techighiol / Negru Voda
- After 3 km you enter Techirghiol. Take the second street on the left.
- After 200 metres you will arrive at the hostel.

By train:
Take the train to Eforie Nord via Constanta. In Eforia Nord you can take a public minibus to downtown Techirghiol (10 minute drive). Please be aware that the buses do not have a fixed schedule. You can take also a cab - around EUR 15 (2007).

From the Bus station in Techirghiol it is a 15-20 minute walk to the hostel. Please ask for the "German Guest house".
