Meine Kunden brachten mir hier kürzlich während einer Geschäftsreise unter. Es ist ca. einen km vom Piata Unirii und Piata Revolutei entfernt, und vom Hotel aus lassen sich die Metrohaltestellen Izvor und Eroilor leicht zu Fuß erreichen, vor dort aus kommt man mit den Linien M1 und M3 schnell herum. Das Hotel liegt auf einer ruhigen Straße, in toller Lage zur Oper und man kann eine ganze Reihe Kramläden, Apotheken, Cafes und Restaurants gut erreichen. Nehmen Sie ein kleines Taschenwörterbuch mit wenn Sie auswärts essen, in dieser Nachbarschaft spricht man wenig Englisch aber die mit französisch, italienisch und ein wenig gutem Willen findet man sich gut zurecht. Die Zimmer sind friedlich, makellos, verfügen über Klimaanlage und sich ausreichend ausgestattet - das Hotel ist erst ein paar Monate alt. Man hat ein Telefon mit Direktwahl, Fön, Internet, Minibar und eine bescheidene Auswahl an Satellitensendern, hier findet man vorwiegend Lokalsender (auf denen oft amerikanische Seifenopern und Filme mit rumänischen Untertiteln laufen), dazu Discovery/National Geographic Sender. BBC, CNN oder EuroNews wurden nicht angeboten als ich hier war. Im Zimmer konnte man sich nicht selbst Tee oder Kaffee zubereiten, das ist in Rumänien nur selten der Fall, da ist es besser, wenn man seine eigene Ausrüstung dabei hat. Die Angstellten sprechen recht gutes Englisch und der Concierge steht rund um die Uhr zur Verfügung. Im Preis enthalten ist ein recht umfangreiches Frühstück, da gibt es warme und kalte Speisen. Der Standardpreis beträgt 135 Euro pro Nacht, das finde ich sehr übertrieben, es entspricht in Rumänien einem Monatseinkommen. Wenn man allerdings im Vorfeld im Internet bucht, dann ist der Preis mit 80 Euro für europäische Standards für das, was man bekommt, recht fair. Ich würde auf jeden Fall wieder hier unterkommen.

My clients put me up here on a recent business trip. It is kilometre or so from Piata Unirii and Piata Revolutei, and a short walk from the Izvor and Eroilor metro stations with speedy access around the M1/M3 lines. The hotel is in a quiet street, excellently placed for the Opera and convenient to a range of local corner shops, pharmacies, cafes and restaurants. Be prepared to have a phrasebook with you when you eat out: little English is spoken in this neighbourhood, but French, Italian and a good nature can help. Rooms are peaceful, spotless, air conditioned and adequately appointed - the hotel is only a few months old. Bedrooms have direct-dial telephones, hairdryers, internet connection, minibar and a mediocre range of satellite television channels - the emphasis is on the local stations (which often run American soaps and movies with Romanian subtitles) plus Discovery/National Geographic channels. BBC/CNN/EuroNews etc were NOT offered when I was there. There were no in-room tea/coffee facilities, which are seldom provided in Romania: it is always best to travel with one's own. Staff speak fair to good English, and provide 24-hour concierge/porterage. The room rate includes a substantial buffet breakfast with hot and cold options. The rack rate of Eur135/night is excessive, particularly given that this is more than the minimum monthly wage in Romania. However, if you book in advance the internet rates of Eur80 or so are fair by European standards for what you get. I would definitely return.
