I stay in a lot of hotels all around Europe because of my job, so they all tend to roll into one. BUT THIS HOTEL REALLY STANDS OUT! It is an absolute gem. A bit further from the centre, but small, friendly and unique. The rooms are small but very comfortable, with gorgeous big bathrooms and amazing shower. The staff are lovely, even preparing me breakfast at 4am because I had to leave early! And if you are always disappointed with hotel gyms, this one is better than most! all in all, a great hotel and great price! I will definitely be staying here again.

I stayed here for 2 nights in June 08.
Hotel is well located. Close to the city centre. It is recommeded that you hire a car while in Bucarest. It is not a city made for walking outside the dilapidated city centre.
Rooms are modern, good flat screens in every room, good toilettes, well appointed and elegant deco in the room.
Internet was free of charge (as it should be in decent hotels) and breakfast was excellent.
It is a boutique, smallish hotel, but well run, with a gym in the basement. It is next to one of the best Casinos if you are into gambling and next to one of the University building.
Prices were excellent. I paid less than 80 Euro per night, which for a 4 star hotel in Europe, is a bargain.
I would recommend this property without reservations.
Word of caution: if you are travelling with children, you should ensure that the XXX rated hardcore channels are blocked. They were free to air and unrestricted (no pay per view) in every room.
I was able to book 3 nights at the Moxa with the weekend special the hotel website offered and ended up paying less than the regular price for one night. The hotel's location is a ten to fifteen minute walk from most sights, though I didn't find Bucharest offered many sights. Our double room was quiet and somewhat small but had a nice bathroom and television that provided a lot of English programs and a few movie channels. Breakfast was not great by any means but maybe I was expecting too much. I would never go to Bucharest again as I found it quite boring but if I had to return I would stay at the Moxa again if I could get a similar rate.
We dined at the restaurants in the Hilton and found the outdoor place to be the better of the two. We also had lunch at a few of the low budget places recommended in Lonely Planet and those were a good bargain....they were the Red Lion and a french bistro in the historic quarter.
Nice small hotel, service could use some work Posted: Thu, Jun 05 2008

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel over a weekend. Room was nice, quiet, well furnished and clean. Ours was on the end and so a good size. Other rooms in the hotel seemed a lot smaller from what we could see. Breakfast was not great for what we paid per night and on Sunday all the tables were dirty with no new places to sit. Coffee was only available by asking and the one machine broke down on the second day and so no coffee was available at all. Hotel staff seemed inexperienced and requests for help with a car for example was met with, try the internet, or phone a number on one of the leaflets. We did and it was fine, but no thanks to recommendations from them. Neither did they know much tourist information such as museum opening days or where anything was in town. In fairness there did not seem to be a lot of information anyway but I would have expected the hotel to have some basic information. They also had problems serving drinks from the bar. 2 beers got 2 different size bottles of the same beer for example. Location wise, it is in a quiet street but a reasonable walk to the old town but not so far to the museums. Taxis are cheap enough anyway so it was not a problem. A very reasonable Italian restaurant is within 200 metres of the hotel. The hotel is soon to expand having refurbished the building next door. It will be very nice with a seating area outside but they will need to improve the braekfast area and service to make it work. The hotel has a good gym as well which is complimentary. Overall not bad, but a little rough around the edges and a bit on the pricey side.
