I was staying in this hotel for 3 nights for a business trip, it is about 10 minutes walk from the Marriott Hotel and ideal if you have a meeting there but can't afford the Marriott. the rate when I stayed was 99E per night but on leaving it was 85E....but if you want breakfast this is charged separately for 10E per day. (which on the face of it is quite expensive for Romania (why do they charge extra ??) As for breakfast itself, then it is the usual standard fare including yoghurts, cold meat, fruit, choice of 3 cereals, bread (with the usual accompanying toaster !!), croissants, 3 different types of juices, 2 types of sausage, scrambled egg and some horrible bacon that had huge inedible pieces of gristle on it (every slice !!). The rooms are bright, clean and functional and the bathrooms are a nice size with a large corner shower, although on one night the water was only just warm enough to have a shower). No opening windows in the room, but 3 settings for the air conditioning which is much needed during the high summer. Food is expensive from the hotel 15Lei for a toasted ham and cheese sandwich, and for a pint of Tuborg it is 7Lei (if you need to eat then there is a shop opposite the Marriott which sells a wide range of snacks). Useful plug points based at desk height in the room but too close together to accommodate 2 adaptor plugs !!, The bed was comfy though, TV has about 20 channels and 2 of those are English speaking, though there was one other channel which was showing CSI in English (and on one night in French) but with Romanian subtitles, there are also about 5 radio stations too. The hotel is located right outside the Presidential Palace but to get to town a walk will take you about 30 minutes....Once again I find the taxi service is just a rip off....despite the guy saying in reception that the fare to the airport is fixed at 60Lei, the driver of the taxi (usually it is the Grant taxis outside this hotel) tried to charge me 80Lei !!! I will recommend always getting the Fly Taxis from the airport (they are the ONLY taxi service officially approved for the airport). Overall a reasonable hotel.
