We booked this hotel via Laterooms.com for a one night stay in December. We booked a twin room for £46 so weren't expecting the Ritz!
What we got was a dirty, unsecure and just horrible room. Our room was on the 1st floor. I'm sure the hotel's website says it's been recently refurbished...if it has we were in another wing because it was definitely not refurbished.
The room itself was, on one hand, a good size but on the other hand dirty and in desperate need of repair. The walls were dirty, with chunks of paint missing, the TV worked but had no ariel, the door closed but rattled and didn't seem to fit into the lock properly (we were very dubious about leaving things in the room) and we had a window but it was covered by strange frosting so no light come in, although i think it looked out on a brick wall anyway.
The bathroom was AWFUL! The sink had been smashed and had a big chunk missing from it (which they'd utilised as a place to store the plug!), the shower was absolutely filthy with what was clearly years old dirt and mould all over the walls and around the showertray.
The first thing I do in a hotel room is check the bed to see if the sheets are clean. Surprisingly these were not! The bottom sheet had been changed but the top sheet and duvet cover had clearly been on for a while and included some lovely stains. I called down to reception to ask for new bedding - no problem was the reply. About 10 minutes later a lady arrived, handed me a duvet cover and left. Nevermind changing it for me, she didn't even wait to take away the dirty linen!!
Luckily we were only there for one night and were using it as a base for going out in London in the evening. One plus about the hotel is that it is just a short walk to the train station which offers a direct line into St Pancras in about 20mins. I'm sure the room looked better when we returned after a few drinks but the next morning looked even worse!
If we could have found another hotel at short notice we would have definitely moved. Stay here at your peril!!!

Its only a little hotel but they really do make up for the size with a warm welcome from lovely staff who were ever so helpfull. I can be quite fussy when it comes to hotels but both myself and my girlfriend thought it was lovely. It is very homely and they even have sky on the television and the location is superb with everything you will ever need in short walking distance.I will definately stay here again!
