We paid 92 euro's for 3 nights b&b and it was a mega bargain. ?32 per person for 3 nights works out at just over ?10 each per night !
Firstly this hotel is on a little hidden cul de sac off the begining of avenue de rodriguez . I would reccomend a cab to get there initially but once booked in you will soon find your feet . we had to ask for directions when arriving and had walked past it twice ! Its actually in a great spot . very near praca batalha - with some excellent shortcuts into the city and down by sao bento train station . Great shops and supermarket near by . within 2 mins of the santa caterina main shopping district .
The hotel staff where very friendly - room was spotless - two comfortable beds - good quality bedding - basic furnishings but in good condition . Bathroom big and comfortable - hot water throughout the day . Cable tv with english channels . Staff fixed our tv within 5 mins nothing was to much trouble for them . Little bar serves very cheap drinks - if its closed just ask and they will get you drinks to take up to your room . we kept our room on untill 6pm on the last day and they only charged us 10 euros . Breakfast was continental - bread, cheese, croissants, jams, cereal, coffee, tea, juice basic but fresh and plenty off it .
All in all a pleasant stay in great budget accomadation . we would certainly go back .
We stayed as a family party of 14 of us and arrived at about midnight.Friendly welcome and were given 2 triples as reserved and then 4 doubles instead of 2 quads for the same price which was excellent.Rooms were clean/beds were OK only criticism was soundproofing which was non existent! Good location and great price-good budget hotel for a weekend break.
All the people were very kind with us, i recomended this hotel, i will come back, everything is near to the hotel, bus station, metro station, excellent.
A dirt, very small room, with an orrible view on a courtyard full of rubbish.
On the pavement there were spots and burnt holes, the shower-bath bottom was brown spotted (...it sucks!)and everywere in the room the smell was nauseoues.
I think it should execute a sanitary control on this hotel, considering that the people have to sleep there!!!
If I will come back to Porto, you can be sure I will not book a room at Residencial Aviz.
....Now I know why I paid just ? 17,00 for each night!!!
