given a welcome glass of port while checking in and staff were as friendly, professional and amenable as any i have experienced. hotel well away from historic heart and 45 mins walk/swift taxi ride/easy bus ride from beachfront at foz. 15 minute walk to nearest metro. we paid 10 euros for upgrade to 14th floor. very nice room. would benefit from free internet access and comp bottled water as we had at sofitel in lisbon. that was only minor gripe. bar service and meals excellent. nice coffee shops nearby, also handy supermarket. porto is a great destination and lunch at taylors fladgate port lodge was lovely. duoro cruise enjoyable.

This Hotel is situated outside of the old town of porto. From the outside it does not look very nice because it is a large concrete building. Breakfast is just great. Staff is very friendly.
