Hotel Baia De Monte Gordo - Monte Gordo, Portugal     

The hotel is very basic with a small bar area which is really just a part of the reception. Breakfast not too good, scrambled egg ( which sometimes tasted of fish) and frankfurters or little bits of fatty bacon. Dinner not much better with very little choice and a very small dining room in the basement so no windows.The town is very quiet and there is not a lot to do at night.You can walk or bus to Villa Real and get a 5 min ferry ride to Spain.

Ithe hotel should not be classed as 3 star as there were too many faults. the rooms were ok in size but the balconys are only 6 x 3 feet and you do not get the sun at all as there are too many high rise buildings around, The plumbing does need seeing too as every time upstairs someone flushed the toilet you get the most horrendous gurgling sound in your toilet and also you get a sewerage smell .The beds are very hard and also noisy as every time you turn over it makes creaking noises. The maids come in daily and make a good job. Breakfast is continental and every day you have a choice of eggs scrambled scrambled or scrambled or should i say rubber eggs as they are like that every day one day you get frankfurters the next streeeeaky bacon then mushrooms then beans and that isto go with your rubber eggs We went b@b as the reports on the evening meals was not good only 1 coice of soup 1 of meat or fish and a choice of local fruit. to be honest the hotel needs a makeover as the place is very tired decoration wise.Car hire is very expensive it works out at about ?30 per day for a small car and the cheapest is
