I've given an overall rating of two dots rather than one, because I think there are probably some folks who would find this hotel to be 'quaint'. The hotel has refurbished the rooms to a nice standard, but for me, there are just too many downsides: • The rooms have no telephones • There is no air conditioning. A fan is provided, but you'll have to unplug the TV. • They advertise wireless internet, but I stayed there for a week and their internet never functioned. Lots of apologies. • Breakfast is a travesty. Juice = flavored sugar water, coffee = Nescafe from a machine. Cereal and bread. No toast, no boiled eggs... nothing even close to hot. No fruit. No protein. We chose to walk down the street to a caf? for our morning meal. From what I understand, the owners of the hotels are heterosexuals who are trying to sell to the gay market. Many gay men think of themselves as discriminating, and this hotel doesn't even come close. A few homoerotic paintings tossed up here and there does NOT make a hotel a "gay hotel".

Not the accomodation I thought I'd booked!!

Be very careful when booking this accomodation. I thought I had booked and recived conformation for this acomodation when it turned out I had been booked into a guesthouse down the road. I booked a double room with en-suite but in practice it was a twin room withe shared bathroom/toilet down the hall. Accomodation was clean but basic and nothing like the photos on the web-site. Finding the accomodation was a bit of a nightmare as well - not good late at night in this area (see below) Accomodation faces onto a very busy street with lots of traffic noise all night long If it wasn't for the fact that it was late at night by the time I arrived I'd have gone elsewhere. another thing to watch is this is quite a ru-down area of town. Lots of people hanging around on the street day and night - wouldn't really want to walk round here at night on my own. Too many drug dealers prostitutes and dodgy looking men. In short I didnt get what I booked and felt very unhappy with the area. Once positive was some excelent local restaurants. woudl I go back to stay here? No way
