Hotel Jorge V - Lisbon, Portugal     

Just returned from a 4 night stay at this hotel. It is excellent value for money, and is a well run clean and safe establishment. I wrote to the hotel management to request a non-smoking room on a high floor and got a lovely double bedded room with a balcony on the 6th floor. (It pays to request early ones requirments as they often are unable to provide these at check in)This is a proceedure I have done for many years as a single traveller, and had to encounter second rate broom cupboards, that single travellers often end up with. Some previous Trip Advisor comments about smelly rooms and inadequet breakfast were in my opinion unfounded. I would have no hesitation in returning to Hotel Jorge V again.

An adequate 3 star hotel for a short break in Lisbon. The rooms whilst not large were fine with efficient air con but lacked tea, coffee making facilities. It's location is just off one of the main avenues and is a 15 minute walk to downtown Baixa. Breakfast was buffet style with a good range of food but did get busy at times and you may have to queue. The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful when needed and the hotel is close to many bars & restaurants.

We stayed for 3 nights when visiting Lisbon for a city break. We booked through HRS and booked a double room with breakfast for 75 euros. The room was exactly what we specified, a double bed with a good view of the city. The location was excellent, close to Avenida and Marquess Pombal metro stops. The area was a quiet business district just off the Avenida Liberdade. Breakfast was good and the the area was quite at night, allowing a good night's sleep. Most of the guests seemed to be there for leisure purposes.

My mother, my niece and I were booked for 10 nights at the hotel, once we got there we could tell the hotel was on the low end of the the 3 stars rating, I agree with the comment that the rooms smelled like urnials we were on the 5th floor and had 3 twin size beds. We cancelled our reservation for the rest of the stay and only stayed the one night since we had to pay for it anyhow. We then booked at the Zenit Hotel we were a little further away from the tourist action but only a block away for 2 major shopping centers and treated very well, compared to the rude staff at the Jorge V hotel. I too would never stay there, again ever!

Das Hotel liegt unweit der Metro-Station "Marques de Pombal" und ist somit eine gute Ausgangspunkt um die Stadt zu erkunden. Wir haben uns kaum im Hotel aufgehalten, waren aber insgesamt sehr zufrieden. Das Gebäude liegt in einer Seitenstraße (daher kaum Verkehr zu hören). Einige Zimmer gehen zur Straße hinaus und haben Balkon. Unser Zimmer im 2. Stock ließ leider nur einen Blick auf den Hinterhof zu. Die Zimmer selbst sind absolut sauber und auch recht geräumig. Ein klein wenig hellhörig waren die Zimmer allerdings schon, war aber noch zu vertreten. Mit dem Service waren wir jederzeit zufrieden. Das Frühstück wird zwischen 07:00 und 10:30 Uhr serviert und bietet eigentlich für jeden etwas (Rührei, Spiegelei, Brötchen, Toast, Wurst, Käse, leckere Backwaren, Joghurt etc). Insgesamt kann ich das Hotel Jorge V sehr empfehlen. Vor allem der günstige Preis und die gute Lage sprechen eindeutig für das Hotel.
