Corinthia Lisboa Hotel was in the commercial area with not very much around it but it was only a 5 min taxi ride into the centre and taxi's are available outside the hotel all the time. The staff were very nice and ready to help you with places to eat and directions. The hotel room was huge, clean and of a high standard very good value for money.

I am a bit surprised when I read the pevious reviews. I booked on the cheapest rate available (ebay voucher rate, 350? for 5 nights, breakfast included). Got a modern room on the 19th floor with view over Lisbon. Friendly staff from 1st to last day, including the concierge, even when wearing jeans or shorts and t-shirts, large buffet breakfast, door "boy" also opened taxi door as expected. Air con working perfectly, even had to switch it off at moments because the room was getting too cold. Perfect experience and would for sure go back.
Pool was under renovation but you don't go to Lisbon to stay next to the hotel pool anyway. Only "negative" instant: room service breakfast is charged separately, even when buffet breakfast is included in the rate.
Reserved the room 6 weeks before travelling, done by email, positive answer within 24h.
If You Don't Wear A Suit -- Don't Stay Here Posted: Fri, Jul 04 2008

We stayed here for 6 weeks. The property was nice but the service was terrible. Our group was not the suit-wearing kind of group the hotel is used to and it showed in the service they provided. For example, the doormen would just stand there when you approached the door with bags of groceries. They would watch you set the bags down, open the door yourself, get your bags, squeeze past the doormen, and head for the elevators. The next person along in the suit would get tended to immediately. The same was true in the bar, they would not come around and let you know it was last call, instead they would come by and turn off the table lamp right beside you to let you know it was time to leave, without asking if there was anything else you wanted.
Also, before we arrived they boasted about their new fitness centre/spa. The only problem is that it was closed the entire 6 weeks we were there.
