"Small rooms but excellent service and breakfast" Posted: Mon, Nov 23 2009

Rooms are small, but the corner/street view ones are larger.
Bathrooms are also small but overall nicely refurbished.
Staff is very friendly and breakfast is sumptuous.
Access to public transportation is not a problem.
Walk to Rossio along Avenida de Liberdade is pleasant and downhill. We rented a car and were provided a garage for 10 euros/night. There are some but not too many choices for dining around this neighborhood.
I stayed here for two nights in April and was really pleased with the hotel. I was too early to check in when I arrived but was keen to leave my bag so I could go out and have a look around Lisbon. The front desk were really helpful, taking my bag and keeping it safe until my room was ready. Upon returning later my bag had already been placed in my room for me.
The room was a little small, but as I was on my own this was no problem. It was also nicely finished and very clean, Breakfast was good both mornings as well.
All in all a pleasant stay - recommended!
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hotel Dom Carlos Liberty for three nights. The staff were extremely friendly and the location was great. Although it is located a bit north of all of the main areas (such as the Barrio Alto and the river), it is central, so you can get to different parts of the city easily. Also, it is only a block from a metro stop on one of the mail lines. It is just off of a main street, so it was very quiet at night. The lobby was extremely nice, modern and our room was clean, updated and although a little small, perfect for our needs. The breakfast was very similar to all other hotels in Lisbon, but had good variety and was replenished often.
