"A very nice moderate priced place in Lisbon"

My wife and I stayed here for one night when the place we booked (the Pensao Lar do Arreiro up the street) turned out to be a dump. We should have stayed here in the first place! The largest room of our European vacation at one of the lowest prices! The restaurant is excellent, too-- and quite reasonable. The staff seems a little reserved-- not the friendliest in the world. But they are extremely efficient; maybe they're just frazzled from all the bus tours and groups that use this place, too. It's very close to the airport, as well, while still in the middle of town. We know we'll stay here next time we're in Lisbon.

Good hotel, excellent value for money. Breakfast was however somewhat disappointing with limited variety of hot food and no yoghurt

The rooms at Roma were the biggest we had in all of our 7 city tour of Iberia. We even had a balcony which was nice for drying some clothes. The bathroom was large and clean and had a good hair dryer. One reviewer said they had to pay for hot water but that was definately not the case for us. The location is a bit away from the center of town but very close to a Metro stop. The Metro was very clean and easy to use. Our 3 kids were excited to swim in the pool (strangely located in what we called the dungeon) but 2 of the 3 were terribly disappointed to see that the entire pool was only 2 feet deep. The 4 year old was in pool heaven! You do have to pay to use the hot tub and it was only slightly warmer than the pool so not worth it. Overall, it was refreshing after a very hot day seeing Lisbon. Breakfast was decent and even though it was a buffet, they were happy to make special order scrambled eggs for my kids that can't have milk. We had a very nice dinner in the hotel restaurant and found good cafes just steps away from the hotel. I would stay in Roma again when visiting Lisbon.

I booked this hotel because of the price. The rooms are really clean and big, breakfast is good. The city centre (the areas that are in tourists interest) are far away but I knew it so it wasn't a problem. There is metro station just around the corner. It took around 40 mins to walk to centre or around 4 euro taxi ride. Taxis were reliable in the city centre but we got ripped off when going from airport to hotel so be careful! The area is quite nice & lively, there are shops, restaurants, cafes so it is not bad eventhough it really is not central location. Next time I might pay a bit extra for more central location though.
