Vip - Lisbon, Portugal 

Stayed there in May 2007. I am familiar with Saldana area of Lisbon and like it, so I figured that it would be OK. It was not. Most depressing hotel and very rude staff. Catering to North African tourists while I stayed there. Forgot to clean my room on my 2nd day there. Need to remember to specifically request room to be cleaned, they are liable to forget. Cleaning staff dumps all dirty sheets collected from all the rooms in front of the elevator on each floor, so to get to the elevator you need to step into and on the dirty sheets. Had to steal soap from the cleaning staff cart, they forgot to provide it in my room. Was afraid to tell the reception about that omission, they are too rude to deal with.

Stayed 2 nights. No problems. Beds were comfortable, the area was quiet, air conditioner worked. Just needs modernizing, which is why I rated it average. Food court in the mall across the street had ample choices to eat. Would stay again.
