Vila Gale Ericeira - Lisbon, Portugal 

We stayed here for a couple of nights and were pleasantly surprised with the hotel when we turned up. Only issue I had was checking in. I had booked this online whilst travelling I hadn't printed the reservation. They did not have our reservation on their system. I had to pay 5 Euro to log on to the hotel computer to email them my reservation confirmation. The pool was lovely and a lot of sun loungers. rooms were nice and clean too.

We stayed in the Vila Gal? based off the reviews on tripadvisor and previous experience of Vila Gal? in Cascais. We had a lovely time, the location is beautiful and the option to lie by the pool whilst being within a stones throw of the beach was great. The rooms were of average size. There were cleaned daily although the maid didn't always replace the bath gel. The breakfast was plentiful and varied and although we only had a bar lunch it was always very nice and quite reasonable. Ericeria is a great place to relax (or surf). It does not have much cultural stuff to do so we would recommend spending a day or two in Lisbon or Sintra if you get bored easily. We found a lovely bar about 10 minutes walk along the coast from the hotel. It is a great place to sit and watch the sunset and we found it better to eat dinner indoors (like the Portuguese) and watch the sunset from this bar (and much cheaper). The beach bar next to the hotel (not the hotel's bar) short changed us a couple of times, so if you have a drink (and it is a great spot) make sure you check you change. Overall we would definitely recommend this hotel and Ericeria.
