THE RESORTLocated at the foot of Mont Blanc, the historic resort of Chamonix is a genuine Alpine town. The "Mer de Glace" glacier (minimum altitude of the glacier: 1,700m.): view from the upper part of the resort over the Montenvers peaks, a well-known site comprising of the Mer de Glace glacier and the amazing obelisk of Le Dru and La Verte. Anyone with a taste for the unusual will certainly enjoy a visit to the ice caves and the "crystal gallery".
