Evora Hotel - Evora, Portugal     

I stayed at this hotel for three nights during the bi-ennial Portugal Air Show which was held at the nearby aerodrome. It has all the usual amenities but with first class service from friendly staff. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable with a quiet but effective air conditioning system. Breakfast was in buffet format and was all that could have been desired. Finally the restaurant served excellent food with an emphasis on the delicious local cuisine. The hotel was the venue for a formal dinner arranged by one of the airshow sponsors and this seemed to be a great success both in terms of ambience and cuisine. A particularly pleasant feature was that a local Paraguyan trained harpist played in the lounge during one evening. His repertoire included a wide range of popular music plus traditional Portuguese melodies. Absolutely magical but not, I suppose, to everyones taste. It certainly was to my own.
