Hotel Metropol - Warsaw, Poland     

Nothing special, but nothing to complain about perfectly nice hotel and pretty much what you would expect the rooms are a decent size and clean. Located centrally in Warsaw is an ideal hotel for a cheap stay.

The hotel itself is very nice inside. Reception very clean and professional, the breakfast vey nice and good coice of time is given to suit all. The rooms vary. First room I had on floor 2 was very dated, very 70's style with wood panelling on walls and the bed was a bit like a camp bed but at least confortable. The second room I was given was on floor 7, same room but had been refurbished and looked very very nice with a proper double bed. The problem in this hotel is the noise. It is positioned right on a main roundabout with trafiic (more than I have ever encountered before) 24 hours a day. This includes trams, even through the night which actually sound like thunder, and police officers stand on the roundabout blowing a whistle for long periods at a time. The wetaher was very hot in June and with no air conditioning in the rooms it was necesarry to have the windows open. Actully even with the windows closed the traffic could still be heard. This may not be too much of a problem for sight-seers who are out all day and tired enough to sleep at night. However, I went to Poland for surgery and would definately NOT recommend this hotel for recuperation.
