"Disappointed"

We booked four nights over the internet at this hotel, received confirmation etc etc. We arrived at the hotel to be told that a mistake had been made with our booking and that there was no room available. We were a bit disappointed as we specifically booked this hotel on a recommendation and that it was a boutique style not a chain of hotels. They transferred us to the Holiday Inn where I must say after some reservations we had a most enjoyable break. If you decide to book over the internet it might be worthwhile giving them a ring to confirm they have received your booking as receiving one as we did, did not mean anything.

If I had not payed for the Hotel up front I would have checked out within 2 hours. Room 17 is not like the Photo on the Web site. When we booked we were assured a room like the photo. Restaurant food was luke warm and a bottle of Chablis would have been 280 Slotty (?70). No tea and coffee making facilities so rang down for room service. Two cups, not a pot as asked for came to ?14. What a rip off. Bed was rock hard, Shower was small and very dangerous as it wet the whole bathroom floor, one slip and you were a gonna. Bar in the Basement was a total rip off so went into the town square which is 10 minutes walk. Dining out can be as cheep or expensive as you want it to be. Aqua and Vino Italian restaurant was exelent and reasonably priced. We wanted our room for an extra hour before we left for the airport so we could have a shower. We were charged ?50 for the privelidge. Krakow is a fantastic town that is a must for tourists but not this hotel. beware!!!!!!!

On the whole a very nice hotel.10 minutes walk to the market square. All staff spoke English and where helpful. The breakfast was good with plenty of chioce. We ate in the Pub down stairs several times and the food was great value but do not eat in the restuarant in the evening over priced and very poor quality. The beds are very firm and the pillows really poor so after 4 nights I was ready to leave.

Perfect position, perfect rooms and perfect price. If you want to stay in a boutique style hotel then this is the one for you. It is a restored palace and the rooms are absolutely lovely and quite stylish. The breakfast each morning is fantastic if you love the continental meats and pickles and cheeses Eastern Europe is famous for. Just a stroll away from the town square and where all the fab restaurants are. If you love french food then you MUST go to Cyrano de Bergerac. It's in a medieval basement so quaint and romantic and oh my god the food is the best french food outside of France. BIG tip. To see aushwitz and the salt mines in one day - book a driver through the hotel. It is the best way and also, your driver is good at getting tickets past the queues at the Salt Mines. Don't do thru the big tour companies. Pay the money for a private driver. You won't regret it.
