From a norwegians point of view: Just came back from a weekend trip in Oslo, staying in Golden Tulip Rainbow Europa Hotel. Highly recommended. Very central -only 5 min. walk from Oslos main street Karl Johan, where all the "action" is. Its essential staying central in Oslo! Okish double room with a relatively small bathroom and not very up to date. Clean tho. But for 395NOK a night you cant expect luxury (special price due to a summer campaign). Breakfast included - which by the way is a sight for sore eyes. Food and staff= Faboulous Faboulous Faboulous! Nice prices in the restaurant, which was a bit of a surprise, considering that Norway in general is very expensive. Next time in Oslo=Hotel Europa

Great location, modern and clean

We spent a total of 3 nights at Thon Europa. Our first 2 nights were excellent. The room was a fine size, clean and comfortable, pretty quiet with LCD TV (though not many channels). The bathroom was a little small but ok. The location is excellent. Just a few minutes walk to the main attractions in Oslo. Breakfast is nice with quite a lot of variety of food. We then went on a trip and came back for one more night. The room we got looked quite the same but the bathtub got filled up while showering and the hotel staff told us we must move a room and they will fix it in the morning. On the whole the stay was nice and we recommend this hotel for anyone visitng Oslo.

I had a room with a wonderful view over the city. The room itself was OK, the bathroom raised my suspicions - old and not very clean. The staff at the reception desk helps with any questions and problems you have, and rents umbrellas if it's raining :-) It surprised me nicely. Otherwise, an average hotel quite a walk from the fiord.
