Victoria Palace - Paris, France 

My family and I (four adults) appreciated the unfailing courtesy, helpfulness, efficiency, and, above all, friendliness, we experienced during our recent eight day stay at the Victoria Palace. We have stayed in many wonderful hotels in the US and Europe, but we have rarely felt as comfortable or as well taken care of as we did there. We felt that the staff went out of their way, every day, to help us feel welcome and to enjoy Paris, and we very much appreciated their patient responses to all of our requests for help, no matter how late we made them or how silly they might have been. The concierge arranged difficult to get restaurant reservations and excellent tours, and had great suggestions for small but terrific non-tourist laden local places for dinner. We loved the location--on a quiet side street, but very close to 2 Metro lines, shopping, hotels and major tourist attractions--the large size and ambience of the rooms, the breakfast, the bar, and above all, the uniformly helpful and cheerful staff. We didn’t really even notice the extensive hall way renovation work that is underway, which in itself was quite an accomplishment! To my mind, the sign of a truly great hotel is how welcome and comfortable I feel there, and by that measure, the VP is one of the very best.

My daughter , 5 year old granddaughter and I had a wonderful week at the VP last March. Yes, we arrived early and had a wait, but we had not requested early arrival. Everyone was very polite, and kept us abreast of the expected time we would be able to get in our room. The room itself was lovely. They provided a nice small bed for my granddaughter and left her candy each nigh when they turned down our beds. They even laid her Paris coloring book on her bed as well! The spacious marble bathroom was beautiful. We found the staff helpful, cheerful, and spoke English well. I ate the eggs almost every day and found them just right. In fact, we thought the breakfast a wonderful value. We also enjoyed a glass of wine in the lovely lounge every day. It is quiet and the perfect place to relax after a long day of sightseeing. This was my daughter's second stay at the VP and we would stay there again. The only downside was that it is a little out of the way, but the positive aspects far outweighed that.
