Hotel Breitner - Rotterdam, Netherlands 

I stayed at this hotel in June of 2008 for the rate of 110 EUR per night. The room was OK but had some problems with one of the members of the staff. We contacted the hotel very far in advance to see if pets were OK, we were told no problem. After being in the hotel for a few days one of the staff members was completely rude to my wife about our pets, saying he knew they would cause damage to the room, which they did not, even after 9 nights. Along with most Dutch businesses I have encountered living in The Netherlands; this hotel could use a lesson or two in treating customers with respect and being professional. There was free Wi-Fi and breakfast included and the hotel is what I consider a good location. For the price the hotel was OK, but if staying here you will take the chance of being treated very poorly by its staff.

This hotel was the least expensive one advertised for the conference i attended at De Doelen. I was very impressed with the proximity to the conference center as well as various restaurants and attractions. The tram was three blocks away. The river was a 10 minute walk. The room was better than i expected. The street was very quiet. I feel sorry for those who paid twice as much on the main drag. It only cost me 10 Euros per night to park my car. I made use of the complimentary breakfast and computer. I recommend the Hotel Breitner.
