Address: Loskade 1, Middelburg, 4331 HV
Fletcher Hotel Restaurant Du Commerce details:  Middelburg, in the heart of Zeeland, was originally the central fortress in the defence line built to protect the island of Walcheren more than a thousand years ago.

Hotel-Restaurant Du Commerce, a special hotel in classic style and the oldest hotel in Zeeland, is located in the city centre – once a major port of the Dutch East India Company during the Netherlands’ Golden Age.

With stretches of sandy beach nearby and a number of historical attractions and quaint towns at its doorstep, this hotel is the ideal place to enjoy a relaxing weekend or midweek break.

For over 100 years, the Hotel-Restaurant Du Commerce has provided guests with a welcoming atmosphere. Located on a quay, across from Middelburg’s Central Station, and within a few minutes’ walk of the historic city centre and all the major points of interest, the Hotel-Restaurant Du Commerce is Middelburg’s largest and oldest hotel.
The interior decoration, such as the beautiful landings and chandeliers, reflect our careful attention to detail.
The comfortably furnished rooms ensure that our guests enjoy a relaxing stay.
As an extra courtesy, guests are welcome to make use of the amenities at the Zuiderduin Beach Hotel. These include a sauna, indoor and outdoor pools, fitness equipment and the services offered by the award-winning Zuiderduin Beach Club.

This hotel was awful. The rooms are tiny and dirty and the bathrooms unspeakable. The rooms on the top floor are noisy during the night due to the clicking of the flags. The rooms are shabby and in desperate need of a makeover. The bed linen was at least clean. Don't stay here, the Neuwe Doelen next door is a much nicer hotel.

In the charming city of Middelburg, this hotel must be avoided. Very dirty rooms, bathrooms beyond any description (same model than 1 star campings in Albania), beds which give you the insurance of staying awake all night long, all this for quite an expansive price, with a surprising "reservation fee", never announced and imposed when you reserve by phone. We left quickly...
