Stayed with the wife 7/13-7/15 for my sister's wedding. Rooms: small and cozy but not claustrophobicly so. Clean. Two twin beds so we pushed them together and slept "side ways" (to keep from falling in the middle). Shower, no tub. Bathroom doesn't have hair conditioner, so bring your own. Traditional metal keys. Check in/out: smooth, no unusual charges. Grounds: pond with fountain, wooded, rustic gives it an "away from it all" feel. Less flowers than I expected, but it looked more "natural" without it. Service: Friendly, speak English. Food: good to excellent. Not at all bland like stereotypical English food. Location: you are away from it all. It's about 1 km ( a bit more than half a mile) to the bus stop. The bus then takes you to Maastricht Train station which is about 3 miles away. Shopping and restaurants are all in Maastricht. Negatives: From an "American" standpoint, it would have been nice to have a gym, spa, and pool so that there would be more things to do at the hotel given that the Dutch weather sometimes calls for rain. But of course this would drive the price up considerably. Overall, this is a nice place no frills place to "retreat" to at a decent price.
