One of the enthusiastic reviewers of the Johannes Vermeer Hotel noted that it was perfect for one or two days. On the contrary, it is perfect for as long as you wish to tour Rotterdam, Utrecht, Gouda, and The Hague. It is the finest Dutch hotel for the money we have stayed in during our eight trips to The Netherlands in the last decade.
The hotel is convenient to the train station and to the tram line that runs to The Hague. Learn to use both these methods and you have the area at your feet.
The youngish couple who own and run the Vermeer are both highly intelligent, knowledgeable, prescient, and helpful.
Their rooms are generally much larger than the usual restricted Dutch rooms in the three-star category. And even the canal-side rooms are quiet. . .unless you mind the ducks being ducks!
The breakfasts are simply the best, in the finest space, of any we have had in any five, four, or three star hotel in The Netherlands.
We look forward to returning to this lovely place with these lovely people in this most lovely of all Dutch towns.

I recently spent 3 days at this lovely quiet, beautifully kept hotel where the staff were very friendly and provided an excellent service. The hotel was fully booked but other guests could not be heard. Breakfast was very good with an excellent coffee machine, lovely fresh pastries, bacon, eggs, cheese, fruit and yogurt. All self serve. My 9 month old was with me, and slept well in the very nice travel cot provided, while the staff were very happy to let me use the microwave to prepare baby food. Overall a delightful hotel, in prime position in the centre of Delft.
