l'Auberge Damhotel - Edam, Netherlands 

Booked for a couple of days at the L'Auberge Damhotel in Edam. The room was very small and cramped with furniture that even though the intension was to make the room look old, you couldn't help the feeling of being in a cheap theme park... There is no real continuity in the interior design, the room and the restaurant feels like a place that was filled in with furniture and decoration that doesn't belong. The food is pretencius for such a place, with big plates that distract the eye from the food served. I found the food both times we tried pleasing in the eye but the flavors were very bland. The stuff was not very helpful and there is no real choice for the little ones. If you have kids traveling with you it's an issue. They are a couple of nice places in Edam that you can go for a short stay in this lovely part of the netherlands, i would not recommend this place to anyone you can do better elsewhere.
