Not an overwhelming but very solid Crowne Plaza Hotel in Den Haag. It is not too centrally located but close to the Tram which brings you to the City center. The location close to a big park is very nice though. The room we had was very clean and newly renovated as it seemed. Complete with international TV programms, minibar (with very reasonable prices!), safe, ironing board, a small balcony facing the park and so on. All in all really smart and comfortable. The bathroom was clean but a little small. Breakfast was very good with wide selection of food and beverages. Nothing to complain about really. The bar already closed at 12:30 in the night which I think is quite early for this type of Hotel. Parking cost you an extra 15 Euro per night which I found a bit expensive. There was a screening of all the football games of the EM2008 in the lobby which was a nice feature.

I am not sure if this hotel has been upgraded since the last review, but I had entirely positive experience here. I stayed 5 nights with my extended family (12 of us altogether) in late July, early August 2007, and we all had a wonderful time. The service was excellent, rooms spacious for Europe, extremely comfortable beds ( which I am very picky about) and very nice rooms. I had such a good experience I felt compelled to write a review, only the second review I have ever written on tripadvisor! I was quite surprised to see the earlier negative reviews. Either rooms have been upgraded and staff has changed in the last several months, or I must have been staying at another hotel! I also thought the breakfast was excellent with a huge buffet of hot and cold foods, eggs, bacon, pastries, yogurt, cheeses, fresh fruit etc. Service in the breakfast room was top notch. Really a great hotel with a superior staff. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Den Haag and I am sure the other 11 members of my extended family would too.
