I booked a room for 8 days, I had an horrible tiny room on the courtyard, you have to know that it is just beside a night club, bring your ear-plugs if you want to try to sleep before 4 am on week-end .. Also one lamp was not working, the TV either, the bath towel were not changed for the 8 days. This is just a bed and what we can see as a "breakfeast"

Approach with caution - expensive and very dirty

The 'friendly staff' were clearly not around that day. After a 20min wait in reception (no bell) a girl drifted in but didn't appear to have a clue. The owner then showed up and immediately charged an extra 4% on the booking although it was booked and subsequently paid for with a debit not credit card. The hotel is filthy - we had the canal side attic room which is VERY high up (no lift) and, other than in the centre part of the room, the carpet had clearly not been vacuumed for years. Underneath the radiators was just disgusting. The room and bed smelled of smoke and, on the window ledge, there were countless cigarette butts. The bathroom was also horrible - mould on the ceiling, nasty blacked grout between the tiles and a hole in the door for the vent. Water pressure in the shower was non-existent and the loo seat was all chipped and horrid. This is only a 2 star hotel so perhaps I shouldn't be too mean but it cost 165 Euros which I think for the dirty state it was in, was very expensive. The benefit of the hotel is that it is in a good location - all the city is easily accessible (although as Amsterdam is small, that is probably true of most places) - the canal side rooms over look the canal but also a busy road AND, there is a nightclub next door which means that if you have trouble sleeping - don't go there!

Do Not Stay Here! You Will Regret It!

Me and my girlfriend booked a stay at this hotel using the website easytobook.nl. Upon arrival we were told that they had no record of our reservation and we would have to upgrade to a more expensive canalside room. My girlfriend explained that the booking error was not our problem but we were told they were fully booked and didnt have any other rooms. As it was the bank holiday we did not feel that we would be able to find a room elsewhere so we had no choice but to get ripped off by him. Also one morning when we were having breakfast, there was a huge argument going on between the owner and one of the guests who were leaving that day which involved lots of shouting about them getting ripped off, to which the owner responded very aggressively. The guest stormed out and his wife followed him in floods of tears. Having read other reviews of this hotel, we found many other people were also tricked into having the most expensive room. We believe the owner of this hotel to be extremely untrustworthy Avoid at all costs

Das Waterfrontfotel ist sehr zentral gelegen. Das ist der Pluspunkt dieses Hotels. Von Außen sowie im Eingangsbereich wirkt es durchaus charmant. Die Dame an der Rezeption machte einen freundlichen Eindruck. Soweit zu den positiven Eigenschaften. Das Zimmer, das wir für 135,-- EUR (ohne Kanalblick- das heisst mit Blick auf einen zugebauten Hinterhof und dem Fenster des Nachbarn in 3 m Entfernung) mieteten machte einen eher verwahrlosten Eindruck. Zwar schien das Bett frisch bezogen zu sein und der Mülleimer war geleert, damit hatte sich die tägliche (?) Raumpflege allerdings erschöpft. Der Teppich na ja, Ein lediglich ausgekippter Aschenbecher auf der Fensterbank. Was macht das schwarze Haar in den Handtüchern - wir sind beide blond?- Fein, zwei frische Saftpackungen im Kühlschrank, leider fast leer, wer weiss wie lange die hier schon stehen... Ok, die Fenster schliessen nicht, aber es ist September und noch warm. Wenigstens liegen keine gebrauchten Kondome im Nachtisch und Lebewesen ausser uns scheint es keine zu geben in diesem Zimmer. Am Tag zwei erfüllte mich die Freude über ein Frühstück, die alsbald vorüber war nachdem ich feststellte, dass die Milch in meinem Kaffee drüber war wie Milch nur sein kann. Das sich das Zimmer generell in einem ziemlich renovierungsbedürftigen Zustand auf der einen Seite, in einem hastig renovierten Zustand auf der anderen Seite befand (Man könnte die Holztäfelung ja auch abkleben vor dem Malen, und warum lässt sich dieses Bild einfach nicht geraderücken??) sei am Rande erwähnt. Dies ist ein subjektiver Eindruck, ja, ich erwarte von einem Hotel in dieser Lage mitten in einem Touristenmagnet nicht viel, aber eine derartige offen zur Schau gestellte Lieblosigkeit sucht Ihresgleichen.
