Thorbecke Hotel Amsterdam - Amsterdam, Netherlands     

I booked an apartment via on-line with Bookings,com, roughly two months prior. As there were three of us, one couple and a single i thought the apartment would be best, we could all be together but the advertised seperate bedroom would give you privacy and as we were on a bit of a budget the kitchen would be very handy. It was advertised as spacious, with all modcons sperate bedroom, kitchen, bathroom with a bath etc... I could not believe that they wanted to charge us 504 Euro for 3 nights for what we actually got. It was roughtly the same size as a double room, with a massive bed and the third bed was a laughable camp bed right next to the double!! No seperate bedroom as advertised and yes there was a kitchen with 3 cups and one glass! NO kettle, No Hob, No microwave, No oven ( one of these would have been better than nothing? )NO cutlery, plates etc.. Basically it was just a fridge, sink and worktop. Now i thought it were common knowledge that apartments have a functioning kitchen? Anyway EVERYTHING listed in the booking was basically a load of rubbish. It were also very grubby, stuff splattered on the walls, the walls in the room were not even painted and looked like a proper rush job. The staff were pretty much useless, thet did bring us a hob down from somewhere but had no pots/pans plates and cutlery so it didnt get used.. We did however manage to get a kettle. We were left waiting to check in as the room was not ready - i honestly think they rustled this room up last minute, they even told us its only a room for two anyway!!! Basically we paid for a lot of things that were not actually included but were advertised. By the time the whole checking in was done it was about 6PM. If you are thinking about using the aoartments please considar this before you book. Its actually worse than hostel aprtments and cost more money. No free drink, no bar, no apologies just greedy greedy greedy.

Pesimo y una estafa es lo que nosotros hemos vivido en este hotel. LLegamos el dia 31 de octubre, y cuando llegamos el hotel a las 13:00, nos dicen que hasta las 15:00 nada, vale, nos vamos a comer. Pero aqui es cuando viene lo GORDO, llegamos a las 15:00, nos sientan en una mesa y nos dicen que no tienen la habitacion, primero nos dicen que claro, si el avion falla, se quedan sin ocupar la habitacion, y al rato nos dicen que en la habitacion ha habido una averia, y claro no se puede ocupar, le decimos que nos la enseñe y no nos la enseña. ESA HABITACION YA LA TENIAN OCUPADA, no nos valio para nada el numero de reserva ni nada. Lo unico que hizo fue buscarnos un hotel, de la cadena IBIS, pero a las afueras de Amsterdam, nos dicen que nos paga una habitacion , y nos mandan en taxi al otro hotel y que ellos ya han hablado con ese hotel, y nos da una tarjeta por si hay algun problema. Llegamos al Ibis (el cual esta a 20 min. en autobus de la estacion central, que a todo esto estaba muy bien), vamos a recepcion con el numero de reserva, y alli no habian hablado con ellos y la reserva que habian hecho era para 3 personas y no para 6 que eramos. Al hacer la reserva alli, el pago lo tendriamos que hacer nosotros con una diferencia de 200 € mas caro. Hablamos con ellos y no estaba la persona con la que habiamos hablado en el Thorbecke, hablamos otra persona y lo unico que nos dice que NOS PAGAN SOLO LA DIFERENCIA, NO NOS VALIO PARA NADA LO APUNTADO QUE LLEVABAMOS POR ELLOS. Pagamos, dejamos las maletas y fuimos al Thorbecke, alli QUE CASUALIDAD, AHORA SI QUE ESTABA LA PERSONA CON LA QUE HABLAMOS PRIMERO, y nos dio solo los 200 € de diferencia, o nos veniamos otra vez al Thorbecke, y nos metian a los 6 en una habitacion pequeña de 4 personas + 2 camas, le dijimos que no por estar cansados desde las 4 de la mañana que salimos de nuestras casa, y eran las 7 de la tarde, y tambien por miedo a quedarnos y nos hicieran algo. Resumiendo, FUIMOS ESTAFADOS, POR ESAS PERSONAS, YA QUE NOS DEBERIAN HABER BUSCADO UN HOTEL PERO EN EL CENTRO COMO LO QUE TENIAMOS CONTRATADO CON ELLOS Y NO MANDARNOS A LAS AFUERAS DE AMSTERDAM, Y ELLO NOS HIZO PERDER UN DIA ENTERO Y PERDER DINERO, POR EL TRANSPORTE DIARIO A AMSTERDAM Y LA VUELTA AL HOTEL. NO ACONSEJO ESTE HOTEL NI LOCO, A PARTE NOS PARECIO CARO PARA LO QUE ES, Y ESO QUE NO VIMOS LAS HABITACIONES, CUTRE.
