Aspen - Grindelwald, Switzerland 

Hotel Aspen is a little gem, just above the town of Grindelwald, and right beside one of the best ski runs in the area. We had a great time there, appreciated the service, and food was well above what you would normally find in a hotel of this price level. Dinner (at sfr 33 a head, some ?20) was no less than 4 courses and almost always very good. Likewise for breakfast (included in room rate). The only tiny downside is that it is somewhat out of town, so don't plan on regular trips down. The skibus stops outside the hotel. Just make sure you get on the right one, as the next one may not be for another hour or so. That said, I am sure that during most of the ski season you won't need the bus, as the run past the hotel will get you away in the morning, and back at the end of the day
