Location

Beach

The township of Capdepera is located in the northeast of Majorca, in the Llevant district.

Capdepera has many of the most beautiful beaches and coves on Majorca’s east coast. The areas of Cala Ratjada, Cala Mesquida, Canyamel and Font de Sa Cala are first rate tourist spots. There are also two areas of great natural and scenic value, which have been catalogued as areas of special natural interest : “Sa Mesquida” Valley that goes down to the beaches of the same name, where there is one of the island’s most important coastal sand dune, known as “Munt Gros”. And the “Canyamel” Valley through which a river of the same name flows. The valley stretches to the Canyamel beach from where the entrance to the Artá Caves can be viewed. A visit to the Artá Caves can be an excellent way to get to know this region of the island in-depth.

As with the other reviews you cannot really fault this hotel. The rooms are spotless- fresh towels everyday, towels for the beach and plenty of room with a large balcony. Block 1 is great- we had 1208 which overlooked the pool and got the sun from 8am to 2pm. The grounds are lovely- plenty of sun beds round the pool or on the grass and so peaceful- no kids! Food is very good- I agree people might get a bit bored with it but there is plenty of choice, loads of salads, fruit, deserts and loads of breakfast choice- including cava! The staff are very friendly. The evening entertainment is ok- the magic show was fun! It is about 5 minutes walk from the beach which is lovely but does get busy as there are 3 other hotels in the resort. There are a few shops but no cafes/bars so don't go if you want entertainment out of the hotels. All in all an very relaxing hotel and resort- would recommend car hire to get out and about.

Its just over a week since I came back from my very relaxing holiday at the hotel Viva Cala Mesquida Suite and I'm already browsing the internet to re-book for next year. I highly recommend hotel Viva, the accommodation is 1st class, rooms large and very clean, loved the walk in shower. We came back to our room on the second day there and a bottle of complimentary cava and a basket of fruit had been placed in room, nice touch! We could see the sea when we looked over our balcony, just one problem with that there was also a pony tracking stables with very noisy cockerel who crowed at the crack of dawn. The weather in October is a bit touch and go, the 1st 3 days that we were there it rained and had a thunder and lightning storm. Just sat at the bar had a few drinks and chilled. By friday the weather had improved and we could sit by the pool, which had plenty of sunloungers and four poster beds to choose from. The food was excellent, had a cooked breakfast every morning, but there was a varied choice of other breakfast to choose from. The evening meal was just as good, plenty off choice. You must try the pool bar for a snack, I highly recommend the club sandwich. The staff worked very hard, from the waiters to the housemaids and are very friendly. This hotel was an adult only hotel, no kids, wonderful peace and quite, but the other guest who were mainly German, Spanish and a few French didn't like to interact with each other. The only people who spoke to us were the pool bar waiters, and the restaurant staff and this made it very uncomfortable at times. This won't stop my partner and I booking again.
