Location

Ennis Friary (2 km) - Founded in 1241, this abbey made Ennis a focal point of Western Europe for many years. In 1375, it had no fewer than 350 friars and 600 students. The abbey still contains interesting sculpted tombs, decorative fragments, and carvings.

Bunratty Castle and Folk Park (10 km) - Built in 1425 and restored in 1954. Situated on 26 acres, it revives 19th century Ireland. Features include a recreated village street, farmhouses, watermill, a blacksmith's forge, Mac's pub, a church and a display of 19th century farm machinery.

Cliffs of Moher (16 km) - Natural ramparts against the might of the Atlantic, they rise in places to over 215 metres and stretch for almost 8 km. O'Brien's Tower, constructed in the early 19th century as a viewing point for Victorian tourists, is located on Moher's highest cliff.

The rooms are nice and ours was way in the back which required a nice healthy walk to the front area. It was a close walk for the baggage handlers of our tour. Hairdryer in the drawer and not much shopping in the area. Ice is availabe from the bar in glass or pitcher for your evening coke enjoyment. The rooms were clean and nice. They have a really nice front area where you can stretch out.

The hotel is more like Ireland 30 years ago. The pictures on the website are deceiving. I booked the hotel in a rush without checking trip advisor first. The positive reviews here are obviously written by the hotel. The hotel is old, smells very bad, and very unclean. The carpets are filthy. Stay in a B&B in Ennis instead. Do not book this hotel.
