You can find many of the sights that Amsterdam has to offer, such as the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, the Amsterdam Hermitage and the Anne Frank House, within walking distance of the hotel.

HOW TO GET TO THE HOTEL AGORA FROM SCHIPHOL AIRPORT
1. KLM shuttle from the airport to Amsterdam centre
get off at Jolly Carlton Hotel (€ 8.00)
Walk till the other end of the flower market to our hotel (about 600 m.)
2. take the train from Schiphol airport to Amsterdam Central Station (€ 3.00 p.p. or free if you fly KLM), this takes about 20 minutes.
Take from Amsterdam Central Station either
- tram 1, 2, or 5, get off at the fourth stop called Koningsplein at the flower market (€ 1.50) or
- a taxi, which will cost about € 4.50 - € 6.50
3. take a taxi from Schiphol airport to Hotel Agora, this takes about 20/25 minutes and costs about € 31.00 - € 37.00. When taking a taxi: allways mention our address as well. There is another Hotel named Okura. Taxi drivers seem to have difficulties to hear the difference. The difference is € 11.00 which you’ll have to pay.
BY CAR FROM UTRECHT
To get to our hotel follow the A2 highway from Utrecht until the very end.
At the exit of the A2 , in the city, turn right. You are now driving along the Amstel river. This street is called “Amsteldijk”. Keep driving straight ahead until the street comes to a end. At this point you need to make a left onto the street Stadhouderskade.
At the second bridge you make a right.
Directly after this bridge is a round-about. You go straight ahead.
This street is called “Vijzelgracht”.
At the third canal, the Herengracht , you make a left. From this canal take the second street to the right and then at the end of this street again a right.
How to Find Hotel Agora by car from Haarlem
From Haarlem take the N5 in the direction of Amsterdam. Keep on going straight ahead; even if the N5 changes in
S 103 ( it is still the Haarlemmerweg). At the Haarlemmerplein (a square across the bridge) you keep going straight ahead, along the taxistop, then, after a few meters, at the end turn left. You’ll see here, in front of you, the ABN Amro bank at the corner. Turn right before the bank and continue to go straight ahead untill you can’t go any futher straight ahead. You’re now on Singel. Go to the right, turning in to Singel. Again, keep going straight ahead untill the very end of Singel. You’ll find the hotel on the right side on number 462.
Directions from Amersfoort
Coming from Amersfoort or Flevopolder you’ll drive up to the “A 10 “; this is the ring road (belt-way) around the city of Amsterdam. Go right here, in the direction of Schiphol, RAI or WTC. You let the exits “S112” and “S111” and take the exit “A2 Centrum/S110” into the city.
At the exit of the A2, in the city, turn right. You are now driving along the Amstel river. This street is called “Amsteldijk”. Keep driving straight ahead until the street comes to a end. At this point you need to make a left onto the street Stadhouderskade.

The cheapest way to park your car is to leave it in the Transferium under the new Ajax stadium ( EUR 5.50 per 24 hours (max. 96 hours) + you get 2 tickets for the subway to go to the centre).From the A2 follow the signs “Transferium ArenA”
