The rooms were clean and spacious. However our room was buy the staircase so at every minute of the day and night the stairwell would be in use and the door constantly banged against another door. we were there for 3 nights and got no sleep. The tv didn't work and there was no teasmaid in the room. The location was fantastic right in the heart of the city with all attractions a stone throw walk away. The four staff that we saw daily of them two men and two woman. The men were lovely and gave us advice on where to go. The two ladies anytime we wanted to ask a question I felt were very abrupt and rude and I felt there quality of service was vey poor. Overall my husband and I had a great time. I wonder if it was noisy because of the time of year that we went which was for the New Year!

The hotel is what it is - an inexpensive room right in the middle of one of the main tourist areas. If location is more important than quality this is a great choice. If location and quality are both importation this is still a good choice. If you want luxury and space and quiet then you should stay someplace else. I have stayed in 1 star through 5 star hotels in Amsterdam. For 1 or 2 nights when I want a cheap place near the train station I'd stay here again.

room for four people was very small andright next to reception and main stairs so quite noisey but in good location

For ?80 a night I was Disgusted. For starters I booked a Double Room on the Internet and was given a Twin with two Singles pushed together. We had no Flush button on our toilet and had to stick our fingers in a hole to flush it, we had Dirty & Marked Sheets on the beds, the fire alarm sounded while we took a shower due to the steam and you could hear all that went on in neighbouring rooms. The rules were stupid, one of them being NO FOOD in your room, which was not stated on the Website 'Venere'. Overall a terrible stay and I would highly NOT recommend the Damrak Inn.

we checked inn a hotel to be told that our room is in an other hotel 100 metres away after we had payed the bill.room looks nothing like photo.furnishing minimal and curtain rails falling apart.bathroom too small even for 1 person.we asked for a smoking room to be told that this was a no smoking hotel.not recommendable.
