Great Staff, Great Location

Extremely handy location, almost opposite central station, yet tucked away from the hustle and bustle. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. You leave you key with them every time you leave and they are behind the counter 24/7. We left our bags with them after check out and they locked them in a designated room so we could pick them up later. Although its close to central station I felt very very secure. Our room was small but had a lovely window and outlook and modern TV. Very clean and breakfast was buffet style cold meats, cheeses, yoghurts, cereal, toast etc. We didn't have tea and coffee making facilities in our room but took our own portable jug. You can buy tea and coffee from a machine downstairs though and it was quite cheap. Overall I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for value for money.

The A-Train Hotel is a nice small hotel with warm staff. The location of this hotel is close and convenient to Amsterdaam Central Train Station. The room was very clean as was the bathroom. If you are looking for a large luxurious hotel this is not for you. If you are looking for an affordable clean, comfortable spot to stay in that has a style all it's own, then you can't beat this hotel. Breakfast in the morning was nice and the front desk staff was very helpful to me. I am a woman who travelled to Amsterdam on my own and felt very safe and comfortable and even "looked" after at this hotel. Especially if you are coming in at night and don't want to wander the streets trying to find your hotel - this is a great place to go. This is not an american style hotel, but I found the beds to be very comfortable and got a great night's sleep.
