Hidden Costs!

My husband and I chose this to be close to the airport for the night before leaving for home. The shuttle picked us up from the airport and took us to the hotel and we found a letter in our room telling us that the return shuttle would be 15 Euros for the two of us. In the morning, the dining room had a nice buffet which appeared to be included because guests just walked in and sat down. (there was no hostess or wait staff) We had coffee and my husband had a piece of toast because we planned to eat at the airport in the first class lounge. Upon checking out the staff at the front desk asked if we enjoyed breakfast and my husband said "Yes" and they charged us 20 Euro/perperson. RIDICULOUS! He talked them down to 10E. Our mistake but honestly, no buffet is worth 20Euro. We did have an upgrade for the room and I found it to be clean and comfortable. This hotel was chosen for convenience only and we stayed in a lovely hotel in Amsterdam the 5 days that we toured the city.

Great location next to the train station. The staff was very helpful in recommending local restaurants and nightlife. The hotel gets locked up every night and security has to let you in past midnight, which is good for safety.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed at. There are many much nicer places to stay in the city centre. Very rude staff and it's a very dirty old hotel. Location was adequate, but the disrespect by staff and dirtiness far outweigh the one and only perk. They will not upgrade you even if you are Platinum and it id guaranteed upgrade to best room available. I do not believe any room at this hotel would be adequate for a Crowne Plaza....Do yourself and family a favor and stay anywhere else in Amsterdam...People in this city are very cordial and friendly except at this hotel!

For an Amsterdam tourist this hotel is conveniently located and provides a comfortable stay. No need to bring shampoo, or toothpaste or toothbrush because all are complimentary. The presentation of the guest rooms could be better, but overall it's nothing to complain about.

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I stay over 200 nights a year in hotel and this place topped them all as horrendous. The front desk staff/management was extremely rude to foreigners. The hotel was undergoing construction, which they do not inform you of until check-in. Very loud and intrusive. We were charged 150 Euro fee to for smoking fee, although my wife nor I smoke. There were many better choices and I would suggest staying at any of them!
