The Worst Hotel EVER..!!

Dont even think ov staying here. Ive been to Amsterdam 6 times and go at least once every year. Ive stayed in some shabby hotels, but this HOLE has got to be the worst..!! To make it even worse it was the most EXPENSIVE hotel accom ive paid (the only reason i stayed her is because it was a large party and most had already booked here) It sells itself by having a 24/7 bar, which is good and looks good on the site. But the drinks were over priced and theres no atmosphere. You may aswell wait till like 10am and go somewhere else. We had no electric in our rooms for 3nites..!! When we asked at reseption this was our reply by the fat beast sat at her perch...: Do i look like a electrician?? DO NOT BOOK HERE.

We booked 2 beds in a shared dorm so our expectations weren't too high. Our shared dorm had NO lock on the door and the padlocks supplied by the hostel didn't keep the lockers shut. We asked to be moved and after a lot of pressure and disbelief from the staff that the lockers didn't work we were moved into a different shared dorm. This was an improvement but there is a real shortage of showers/toilets here and they are not at all clean. The location is excellent, right in the red light district and very convenient for the station. Overall, not recomended at all.

This place is gross. The mattresses and linens were stained and the bathroom was dirty. We were three girls staying in a mixed dorm with 5 guys- which would have been fine, had one of them not been in his late 40s and slept in the nude. The lack of an age limit is a real problem. If you're a girl, try to get a girls only room-if they have them. Maybe it's the nature of the city, I never had an issue with mixed rooms anywhere else. The staff was really nice though and it's in a good location. It is located on top of a bar- no elevator so be prepared to drag your bags up steep steps. The bar has an outside area along one of the canals, which is nice.

First of all this is cheap, friendly and a great location. When we arrived it was easy to locate and checking in was fine. The globe is more of a hostel than hotel so dont be expecting much the bar below is open til 5AM which is great for a stag do. the bedrooms arnt up to much but you get what you pay for and when you are up til 5AM you dont care where you sleep. The location is brilliant it is in the heart of the red light district on the canal with all the local bars close by. i defo recommend for a birthday party or stag do!
