The bath was very dirty and small. We had to pay more than it was said in the booking. We didn´t have a triple room as we had reserved but a room for 6 people. Hotel staff and guests went into the room twice when we were out and it wasn´t for cleaning. The views from the window were to a dirty little patio (courtyard).

I booked a double room for 2 nights in Damhotel because of its good location, but when I arrived a few minutes after 12pm (12:15 probably), they told me the check-in desk has alredy been closed at 12 and pushed me to transfer to another hotel (belongs to the same owner, besides the furthest canal). They told me they will give me a big room, but the new "hotel" turned out to be a hostel and the room was a 5-bed hostel room.......yes, it was big...... Even after I found out the fact, they still refused to give me a room in Damhotel even for the next night (they threatened me the only room I will get in Damhotel is a bunk bed room and is not guaranteed). There was not lift in both Damhotel and the hostel, they knew I had 40 kgs luggage but still gave me a room on the top floor (5th floor) and told me it was the only room left, but the next day I found out actually it was not the truth. I moved all my luggages along the steep stairs, nobody helped me, the front desk guy just watched me chillily. Besides, the price for Damhotel was 85 Euro per night, and even the walk-in price for the hostel them sent me to was 65 Euro per night.......... The owner has several hotel&hostels, only the Damhotel locates near the central Amsterdam, and they always want to fill up all their properties....... So be vvvvvvvvvery careful when you book this hotel. I will never trust this hotel any more and will warn all my friends who will go to Amsterdam.
