Hotel Orfeo - Amsterdam, Netherlands     

I don't quite know what the people who posted comments complaining about everything were expecting - it's a hostel not 5 star accomodation! Location was brilliant for getting to bars, restaurants, attractions, and the people behind the desk were very helpful, gave us a great map and guide. The beds were fine and the room was generally pretty clean. Yes, the toilet and shower were smelly and breakfast wasn't up to much, but if you want more, then pay more, simple as that. I was in a group of 8 staying for two nights and we all had a great trip. If I wanted to go back to Amsterdam again on a limited budget like we had this time, I would consider staying there again. Be aware that in Holland they often charge a tax on your room in many places of roughly 5% that often isn't mentioned when you book. Don't know why, but that seems to be how it's done.
